I am not Religious

Growing up I always thought that people that went to church were just these religious, stuck up, group of people that would talk about all the bad stuff everyone else was doing. Where I grew up, there was some truth to that. When people think of being a Christian, a lot of times they think well I am just not that religious.
There are many religions of the world that people follow. From the big ones Muslim, Buddhism, Hindu, to the small religions that the people on islands follow. The problem is people want to put Christianity on that same list with the rest of the religions. That leads too, well as long as you just believe in a "higher power" or one of this religions then you are doing fine.
I am not religious, and neither was Jesus. If you read the gospels, you will see Jesus always coming against the religious leaders of his day. Religion is our way of working back to God. If we do this, this and that, we will be right with God. See the problem is Jesus did not come and die for our sins to start another religion. He came to start a relationship!!!!

John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus tells us that the only way to God is through his sacrifice on the cross. There is nothing we can do, and cannot be good enough, because sin has separated us from God, and the ONLY thing that will bring us back to God is the blood of Jesus. Being a Christian is not about being religious, but being in a relationship with Jesus.
