Open Doors

If you have been a Christian for any amount of time, I am sure you have heard the phrase, "God really opened a door for me." or "Pray that God will open a door." And there is common, "If God closes that door, he will open another one." I have even heard, "If God closes a door, he opens a window." I am in a situation in my life right now, where I am actually praying for God to "open a door"

. Some people take this idea in the wrong way though. They want God to open them a door, but they want to choose what is on the other side. See if God opens a door for you, it is because he has a purpose and a plan on the other side of that door for you to accomplish, not so that you will have a easier life, be richer, happier, or anything else, but for his glory. Lets look at a scripture.

Colossians  4:3
"And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains."

Paul was telling the church to pray for him that God will open a door, but it wasn't for any selfish gain, but to proclaim the gospel to more people. We sometimes have to check our motives when we want God to open a door for us. Is it because we want or think we need something, or are you ready for what God has planned for you on the other side of the door. If God is opening you a door, don't be afraid to go through it. Because even if it is not what you want, it is want God wants for your life. Sometimes we give so little to the one that gave so much. I can give you an equation.. Christian Life = God's Will > Our Will

God Bless
