Welcome to the Masquerade

So many times in life we hide who we really are.
Like we are going to a Masquerade, and have our mask on, hiding our problems,hurts,hang-ups, and sins. Some of us have a different mask for every occasion in life. We are one person around our family, another around friends, and still another when all alone.
I was playing these same games before I got saved and set free. Hospital worker by day, druggie by night, then when family came to town, I was the perfect grandson or whatever. After I was saved, I finally put down the mask.
Proverbs 20:27
The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being.

God knows the things we are hiding, the person that we truly are, when no one is looking. And the crazy thing is.... He is still crazy about us. So many times we hide who we are to everyone around us, because we are afraid of what they might think. God knows our inmost being, he sees us to the core, and is madly in love with us and wants us to put down the mask and start living in freedom.
True freedom is taking off the mask, and asking God to heal that broken part of you. True freedom is getting everything out in the open and dealing with it and moving on. We will never be truly free until we let the Holy Spirit transform us. That starts with being honest with ourselves and stop masquerading around like everything is "fine".
Jesus sees past the mask, but he is calling to us to come to him and be healed, transformed, and changed. He wants to make us whole, to put our pieces back together. Dont hold back from him, open up and let him do the work in you. It's time to put down the mask.

God Bless
Pastor Russell
